Third Teaching Practicum

Today, Tuesday 9th, 2017 I had my third teaching practicum and I taught the adverbs with the present perfect tense.

I developed a “find someone who” as a warm up activitiy and as a follow up activity I asked students to share some anecdotes about the sentences. The warm up activity was a good activity because students were sharing personal information.

Then, I had students doing a multiple choice exercise in which they had to underline and choose the best adverb (still, already, yet, etc.) for each sentence. I think that this activity worked well for students because they reinforced their knowledge about the topic.

Besides, I developed an interview activity in which students needed to ask some questions to a partner and write complete sentences using the adverbs and the present perfect. This activity was good because students were interacted and using the grammar patterns.

Finally, I developed the paper airplane activity and I asked students to write one adverb. Then, I asked students to throw the airplane and pick up one. After that I had them walking around the classroom sharing a sentence according to the adverb that they got. After that, I asked students to share some sentences. I consider that students enjoyed this activity as they looked very engaged since the beginning until the end of it. Moreover, I think this activity benefited those kinesthetic students and all the students were speaking and interacting among them.
